FEEDBACK

I feel very fortunate to know Barrister Sabina – a passionate soul for promoting high quality of legal skills among law students. She is extremely committed to the spirit of human rights and idea of access to justice which is rare to find. What is most praiseworthy about her is strong aspiration to bring the skills and knowledge of global North to global south through training and workshop for law students in Bangladesh. She is also very good at encouraging and inspiring strong and emowered women for higher cause. She loves to connect empowered women and create sister hood and solidarity. I believe she can be role model for many women who want to empower others for the cause of justice.

Very many thanks to Barrister Sabina Khan for leading a training and development session for law students and practitioners at Brac University on the important theme of disability inclusion. We hope this is just the start of a campaign with Barrister Sabina, Team Inclusion Bangladesh and others. We have had so much positive feedback from participants who came from several universities and organisations. One of the best ways of appreciating the session is to quote from some of that feedback;

“I’m thrilled to share my experience of this exceptional workshop, where students came together to explore the power of inclusion and enhance our legal skills…. under the expert guidance of Barrister Sabina Khan, we delved deep into the art of advocacy… receiving a certificate at the end of the workshop was not just a mark of completion, but also of my commitment to promoting inclusion in my personal and professional life.”

“Coming from a position with no prior exposure to advocacy, this training was my first introduction to the art of skilful advocacy. And I must admit, it was one of the most cherished experience of my student life. You and the team have done a tremendous job to break down the theories and demonstrate the essentials to a diversified group of female students coming from different backgrounds. You have catered to our interests, questions and necessity with adequate information over and over again, each time with a big smile. From the method to the application, guidance, support and feedback – in each stage of the training, you have never failed to appreciate our tiniest improvements and your attention to details have made you one of our favorite trainer! Sabina, due to this training, my concerned academic courses have been so easy to comprehend and I now appear more confident and your feedbacks guide my arguments till date. I am too young to comment on your methodology and efficiency, but you have implanted a seed, initiated a drive in my heart to be empathetic, to do better, to achieve the best of my ability – and I’ll always be grateful to you and your training for that.

“My sincere gratitude to Women Internationally Gaining Skills(WIGS) for arranging an advocacy and skills training workshop for women in February 2020.We had the privilege to seek knowledge from an excellent trainer, Sabina Khan. The two days training gave us the appreciation for all the essentials of the advocacy. It coached us how to extract important information implied by a fact and apply them while cracking a problem. The key skills that she taught helped me develop my other abilities of Advocacy and built a better, confident, strong and determinate side of myself.” Bushra Haque LLM Candidate, Department of Law.

“The workshop was conducted by following ‘Hample’ method. The method was very simple, we had our mistakes identified by our trainer, Ms Sabina and then we were instructed to make it correct. This changed my way of seeing my mistakes. I got my confidence boosted up on my skills and abilities. I stopped fearing my mistakes after the Ist day’s session. Because the one thing that I had learnt very well from this workshop which is, ‘Mistakes are first needed to be identified to be corrected. After that confidence comes automatically. Confidence is the most crucial factor for advocacy.”

“I had the pleasure of having Sabina as a trainer on examination and cross examination in February, 2020. I had no prior experience on the matter and she guided us wonderfully from the basics to advanced materials. I have recently joined as a Trainee Lawyer in Rahman & Rabbi Legal. The technical skills of analysing briefs/statements have been of a great help to me as a novice in legal profession.”

“Not too long ago, I had an opportunity to attend a workshop on advocacy skill arranged by WIGS (Women Internationally Gaining Skills). I must say Ms. Sabina is an excellent trainer. She is not only knowledgeable; at the same time she knows how to disseminate it. I was surprised at her patience and devotion. As I am still a student and our curriculum lacks practical education, I literally had a very poor knowledge about the practicality. But I have learnt the process of Examination in Chief, Cross examination, court proceedings, and proper etiquette and so on from just one workshop! Ms. Sabina made me realise that how strong women can be! I can surely say, she has left great impact on me. I really look forward to learn from her again someday.”

“WIGS Female Advocacy Training the first programme I attended to learn necessary advocacy skills required in a mock trial. The Hampel method used therein proved to be an easy and effective method to learn chief examination and cross examination. I have directly used the skills learnt in CCLE Mock Pre-Trial Training 2020 organised by BABESEACLE. The training has been a wonderful opportunity for me to learn new skills as well as improving my existing abilities of speaking. planning and persuasiveness. Sabina Khan was a brilliant trainer being communicative. precise and encouraging to us all. Strong, confident and brilliant, Sabina stands as an inspiration to all women in gowns. I wish her every success.”
